Frequency Specific Microcurrency Treatment and Dogs

Advances in pet medicine are slowly making headway to keep a semi-pace with their human counterparts. An MRI, CAT scan, acupuncture, chiropractic, and other non-traditional forms of therapy, treatment, and testing are making headway in the veterinary medicine world.

Frequency Specific Micro-currency (FSM) is a rather new form of therapy in the treatment of disorders causing pain in animals. I came across a press release announcing FSM as part of the treatment modalities being offered by a Michigan veterinarian. FSM uses a very small electric current at an applied dosage. It is generally used in the treatment of pain and inflammation but can help boost the immune system. People have been using FSM treatment for over a dozen years.

Now dogs and cats are privy to the process. The pet has soft electrodes applied to the body and in what seems similar to a TENS unit, the pet can walk around during treatment thanks to a “fanny pack” of sorts they wear. Treatment goes from 30 to 60 minutes. Apparently a slight tingling can be sense by the pet but not the feeling of an electric current. What most caught my attention is the fact that the pet need not stay at the hospital for longer than the treatment period, which is recommended every three to seven days until improvement is seen.

Dr. John Simon of Woodside Animal Clinic in Michigan shared, “I offer these types of holistic services at my animal hospital because, when combined with veterinary medical care, I find we are able to treat more pet symptoms and pain conditions effectively. Our combined holistic and medical approach provides pet owners with more comprehensive care options for conditions like cancer in dogs  or dog rashes than available at many standard veterinary practices.”

Since our pets cannot tell us where they hurt and often hide it from us, this could be a viable form of alternative treatment* to discuss with your traditional vet and/or talk to others who have had it performed on their pet. Some signs a dog is in pain include posture change, less activity, lethargy, loss or decrease in appetite, personality change, change in gait, amongst others.

Never diagnose what you think might be wrong with your dog and always check with your dog’s regular veterinarian prior to beginning any new treatments.

*Fidose of Reality does not endorse any specific treatment.

Question: Have you ever done “alternative” or “holistic” forms of treatment on your dog and if so, what kind?
